ILM Adds Parking Availability Interface

Travelers Can Now View Available Parking Spaces Online

Wilmington, NC (July 24, 2019)— The Wilmington International Airport (ILM) is launching a new parking information system, which allows travelers and members of the public to easily view the number of spaces available in each parking lot.  The information is reported in real-time and displayed on the airport’s website.(https://flyilm.com/parking-options)

The parking page on ILM’s website displays a map of all parking lots, the spaces available in each lot (Hourly, Main Daily, Standard Daily, Premium Daily, and Economy Daily), as well as the associated rates.  Once a parking lot has fewer than 12 available spaces, the colors (of the available spaces) change from green to red to visually show customers that the lot is close to being full.  Once all spaces are taken, the availability changes to “full.”  An electronic sign, which will also display available spaces, will be installed along Airport Boulevard.

Wilmington International Airport has grown substantially; setting records for the number of passengers utilizing the airport in recent years.  In 2018, ILM served over 934,058 passengers.(A 12% growth over 2017.)  An increasing number of travelers continue to select ILM as their airport of choice. During January-June of 2019, ILM had a 15% year-over-year increase in passengers.  As such, the parking lots at the airport have been heavily utilized and, at peak times, filled to near capacity.  “ILM strives to provide an exceptional airport experience for our customers.  This new parking feature allows travelers to view available parking spaces and conveniently plan ahead before they depart for the airport.”
