At the New Hanover County Airport Authority meeting July 9th, ILM welcomed new Airport Authority member, Brian Eckel. Additionally, the Authority congratulated Faison Gibson on her reappointment to a second term. The Airport Authority elected its officers for the coming fiscal year. Jason Thompson was elected Chair, Faison Gibson Vice-Chair, and Wanda Copley Secretary. Nick Rhodes, Jr. became Immediate Past Chair.
Brian Eckel was appointed to the Airport Authority by the New Hanover County Commissioners on June 15th and will serve a four-year term. Eckel is the co-founder of Cape Fear Holdings, which includes three specialized divisions: Cape Fear Commercial, Cape Fear Development, and Cape Fear Construction Group. A Wilmington native, Eckel pairs his professional pursuits with a strong commitment to serving the community. He is dedicated to making a positive, lasting impact on both the region and the people who call it home.
