Hurricane Florence Sept 21st Update

Please see below for a list of Wilmington International Airport’s most frequently asked questions and answers from throughout the day.

  • Is the Wilmington International Airport (ILM) open?Yes the airport is open.  Flights began operating Tuesday Sept 18th.  Flights appear to be back to “normal.” Please reach out directly to your airline to check flight status, communicate about any rescheduling needs, or ask any flight related questions.
  • How do I get to the airport? Are roads open?Roads on ILM airport property are, and have been, fully open.  For questions related to roadway/highway conditions across North Carolina, please check with the NCDOT website. https://tims.ncdot.gov/tims
  • Are restaurants open in the airport?Most retail and restaurants are open at the airport.  Currently, due to limited food supplies coming from Raleigh, Jetstream Restaurant will not be open until at least Monday.  Wheels Up Pizza, which is located by the gate area, is open and operating.  They have a limited menu but they do have hot food. There is also a full bar.
  • If I parked at ILM prior to the storm, do I need to pay for parking?USA Parking will offer a flat rate option, for those impacted by Hurricane Florence, who arrived and parked on or prior to Sept 13th and are departing through Sept 23rd. We appreciate USA Parking for offering this reduced flat rate option!  Please follow the instructions at the gate upon departure.
