Southeastern N.C.residents get ready for more sunshine! The low-cost airline, Allegiant Air, announces new, nonstop jet service to Florida's Tampa Bay area from Wilmington International Airport. The low-fare carrier will celebrate the convenient new service to the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport with sunny low fares.
Reservations may be made through the company's website www.allegiantair.com,the airline's Reservations Center at 702-505-8888 or professional travel agents. Allegiant's $49* one-way introductory fare is limited, not avbailable on all flights and must be purchased by Dec. 3, 2008, for travel completed by Feb. 28, 2009. Calendar year 2007 was a record-breaking year for Wilmington International Airport in terms of passengers flying in and out of ILM. We served a total of 801,187 passengers in 2007 which represents a 25% increase over 2006. Passenger numbers at Wilmington International Airport continue to rise in 2008. Through June, 406,091 people flew in or out of ILM, up 8.7% over the same period in 2007. We are very appreciative of your support by flying in or out of ILM. These increased traffic numbers enhance our opportunity for additional service. We will continue to pursue more non-stop service to our top 10 destinations.
